A Light Has Gone Out

Tomorrow is a new day and you’ll find me
Sat beneath the lilac tree
On the spinning Earth in peaceful repose
Around nine, colours of spring time washed in dusk grey
Fade out with the passing light, ’til they’re out of sight
And I’m left alone there, so where, do I go

So look at me now the fight has gone out
Somewhere in my soul, a light has gone out for good

There were times life just passed by, without warning
The walls could crash around me then and
The noises would just fade out of thought
And I’d go to where you stood, ask the ground to,
Open up beneath you there, ’cause that would seem fair
But now it’s all gone, forgotten, where to now

So look at me now the fight has gone out
Somewhere in my soul, a light has gone out for good
And there in the spring time, I wait to be reborn again

And I try to forget, for I know I must forget
But sometimes I fail
And I wait for something, and I wait for anything to grow

Tomorrow is a new day and you’ll find me
Sat beneath the lilac tree in peaceful respose there
So where do I go

But look at me now the fight has gone out
Somewhere in my soul, a light has gone out for good
And there in the spring time, I wait to be reborn again
