Don’t Think I Don’t Care

So near and yet so far,
We’re not as close as we have been
Your world falls around you,
And I watch it on the screen

But don’t think I don’t care

Sailing inside a bathtub darling,
On a cruel sea
Harpoons fly around you,
And I’m nowhere to be seen

So please forgive me,
If I turn away,
I can’t face it
But don’t think I don’t care

Such few words, just a simple phrase
To help to share the pain
I don’t understand, why I can’t say them
But I feel it deeply nevertheless

So near and yet so far
We’re not as close as we have been
Would you even thank me,
For stepping in your misery

But don’t think I don’t care
Don’t think I don’t care
Don’t think I don’t care
