Our new logo

One of the great things about being in a band is that it brings you into contact with some very interesting and talented people. At our recent gig at the Central we had the pleasure to meet Josh Doyle, a lady who plays her guitar upside down (the guitar is upside down, not the lady), our number 1 fan (you know who you are!) and designer Connor Reed.

Now, Candi’s Dog are all about the music; it takes up all of their meagre skills, energy and thoughts, leaving little time for anything else. The result is that the three members are spectacularly untalented in other areas and their non-musical talents can be quickly summed up: Matthew can count money with lightning speed, Stephen is good at locating plug sockets in darkened music venues and Daniel is great at ‘networking’. All this means that some of the non-musical elements of Candi’s Dog are decidedly shabby.

Thankfully we had the good fortune to meet Connor Reed who pointed out, as politely as possible, that our Candi’s Dog logo was rubbish. While we have to agree, the class of 2C at the local primary school who designed our previous logo would now be enraged had they developed the literacy/computer skills to read this blog. Connor kindly offered to design a new logo for us and below is the result, which I am sure you will agree is marvellous*. Please make sure you check out his other work here. The new logo will now be adorning all manner of Candi’s Dog merchandise, when we get around to it.  Any of you with merchandise with the old logo on best hang on to it as it could be priceless/worthless in years to come.

The old dog has now served his purpose and will be taken out and shot by a farmer friend while the kids are at school. Thanks again to Connor for offering his services, if there are any other talented people out there who can offer their services at reduced/free rate we could do with the following: Record producer, printing, video production and editing, pizza, replacement of rotten fascia boards and one of those treatments where tiny fish eat the dead skin from your feet.

*OK, how long did it take you to work out the silhouette was a dog. It took Candi’s Dog a combined total of 27 hours 43 minutes to get it. As I said, they are all about the music.
